The Huiqin Festival of the Miao ethnic group attracted tens of thousands of Miao people from Guiding County, southwest China's Guizhou Province. The three-day festival included activities such as the intangible cultural heritage item that is the Miao dragon dance performance, a lusheng dance competition, a Miao song competition and more.

It is explained that the Huiqin Festival is an ancient traditional event among the Miao people and a social gathering for young unmarried Miao men and women. It mainly takes place during the agricultural leisure time in the sixth and seventh months of the traditional Chinese calendar.

Miao people of all ages dress in festive attire and invite friends and relatives to share a meal together from bamboo baskets filled with glutinous rice, preserved meat, and other delicacies. This celebration is a way to commemorate a bountiful harvest and wish for good fortune, happiness, and well-being.
