China and Morocco meet over tea: Chinese green tea in Moroccan mint tea
01:49

The Kingdom of Morocco is known as the "Garden of North Africa." One of its famous poets Abdallah Zrika wrote this line about tea: "The whole universe is found in a teapot." Moroccans love tea, but Morocco doesn't produce tea. Most of the tea that people consume comes from China.

Morocco is one of the largest importers of Chinese green tea. It's also the first country in North Africa to sign the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation plan with China. The main ingredient in Moroccan mint tea, Morocco's national beverage, is Chinese green tea.

As part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, CGTN invites all tea lovers to join its "Cup of Tea" challenge. Post any tea-related video to show how you connect with one of the world's most-consumed beverages. And don't forget to raise your cuppa!
