Tech, Please: What's China's ACG culture and how it's related to tech?
Gong Zhe, Zhao Yuxiang

In China, ACG culture refers to the community that sees animations, comics and video games as their main ways of entertainment.

Lots of ACG lovers have no idea that the word was mostly used among Chinese-speaking people, while native English speakers find it hard to understand the concept.

ACG fans are, to an extent, similar to the nerd culture in the West. Japanese "otakus" may also find the ACG culture familiar, especially when they realize the two cultural groups share the love for Japanese media products.

But how is that related to technology?

Turns out, the ACG lovers are usually very fond of consumer electronics. Without modern technology, the ACG culture may never go mainstream.
