At least two Tunisians died when their Europe-bound boat sank Saturday off the North African country's southeastern shores, the coastguard said, adding five others were missing.
The vessel carrying 20 Tunisians went down at 2 a.m. (0100 GMT) 120 meters from land and 13 passengers had been rescued, a statement said as search operations continue.
The North African country is facing a record wave of migration this year and frequent catastrophes involving boats heading to the Italian coast.
