Local authorities in northeast China's Jilin Province have taken prompt action to repair a damaged power facility and initiated drainage and water examination work as heavy downpours batter the region.
Typhoon Khanun, the sixth typhoon this year, has wreaked havoc since August 10 in the eastern part of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin, cutting off power supply in certain areas. This prompted swift action from the local power department to initiate repairs on the affected circuitry, by dispatching 46 repair personnel and 16 vehicles to join in the repair work.
