Senator Mushahid Hussain, chairman of Pakistan's Senate Defence Committee, says the West can no longer use coercion to force other countries to act according to their own wishes. Other countries "are now asserting their authority, their autonomy, and their own core interests are paramount, not the interest of former distant godfathers in the West."
