Tech, Please: What's China's ACG culture and how is it related to tech?
In China, ACG culture refers to the community that sees animations, comics and video games as their main ways of entertainment. Lots of ACG lovers have no idea that the word is mostly used among Chinese-speaking people, while native English speakers find it hard to understand the concept. ACG culture is, to an extent, similar to geek culture in the West. Japanese "otakus" may also find the ACG culture familiar, especially when they realize the two cultural groups share a love for Japanese media products.
But how is that related to technology? It turns out that ACG lovers are usually very fond of consumer electronics. Without modern technology, the ACG culture may never go mainstream.
