Unexplored Land Ep2: This monkey with crimson lips is a highland star

Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys, with their iconic crimson lips, are highland stars living on Baima Snow Mountain in southwest China's Yunnan Province. The monkey tribe on the mountain welcomed eight newborns this year. With their small population and low birth rate, it's vital for Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys to take utmost care of their young. To help her offspring adapt to the challenging surroundings, a young mother will, for several months after giving birth, keep her young at her side and teach them survival skills.

About 'Journeys in Nature': Unexplored Land

"Unexplored Land" travels from the Qinling Mountains in northwest China's Shaanxi Province to southwest China's Yunnan Province, from the Changbai Mountains in northeast China to Jiangsu Province in east China. The stories offer an insight into the life of many unique species in China. A huge quantity of priceless footage was obtained through many hours of patient waiting and tracking in the field.
