Six civilians, including two children, were killed and several others were injured in an explosive weapons attack in northern Myanmar, according to state-run media.

According to the report, the so-called People's Defence Forces (PDF) launched the attack in the Yamanay village of Kanbalu township, Sagaing region, on Saturday, using drones and light and heavy weapons.

Two school buildings were also destroyed, it added.
