More than 2,500 evacuated from Russia's Far East

Along with record-high global temperatures, many parts of the globe are being hit by heavy rains and floods. In Russia's Far East region, more than 2,500 people have been evacuated due to floods brought by Typhoon Khanun. The Ministry of Emergency said 28 settlements were cut off by Monday and more than four thousand houses were destroyed. It said the floodwaters have begun to recede in most parts of the Primorye region, and the worst flooding was on the Malinovka river.
