Recently, in the sea area of Dongping in Yangjiang City of south China's Guangdong Province, about a dozen Chinese white dolphins were spotted swimming swiftly. The Chinese white dolphin is considered a vulnerable species by the IUCN. It is under first-class state protection in China. The dolphin's skin is dark gray when it is young, and gradually turns into white when it grows up. The reason why it looks pinkish is due to the vascular congestion under its skin while it is swimming.
