A cargo ship has left Ukraine's port of Odessa for the first time since July 16, moving along a new corridor to the Bosporus Strait, local media reported on Wednesday, citing Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Ukraine last week announced a "humanitarian corridor" in the Black Sea to release cargo ships that have been trapped in its ports due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Moscow has not indicated whether it would respect the shipping corridor, and shipping and insurance sources have expressed concerns about safety.
Moscow on July 17 suspended its participation in the Black Sea grain export deal, which allowed Ukraine to export its grain and other agricultural products from its Black Sea ports.
