The only frontal photo of a white giant panda in existence has been released by the Wolong National Nature Reserve Administration in Sichuan Province. Compared to the classic-colored giant pandas, this bear appears as if it has erased its dark eye circles, whitened its black ears, and taken off its black vest.
White giant pandas are truly rare in the world. The discovery of them breaks the long-held belief in the history of panda research that giant pandas only have monochromatic fur coloring, affording them great scientific significance.
