India's Moon Mission-3, or Chandrayaan-3, completed lunar-bound maneuvers and entered into an orbit of 153 x 163 kilometers as per the plans, confirmed the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Wednesday.

The next step is to prepare for the propulsion module and the lander module as they gear up for separation slated to take place on Thursday, added the ISRO.

Last week, the ISRO said the Chandrayaan-3 will manage a soft landing on the moon's surface on August 23 even if its two engines and all the sensors stop working.

Chandrayaan-3 was launched on July 14 and put into the lunar orbit on August 5.

The country's Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh hoped that India's Moon Mission-3 might be able to achieve some more evidence of the presence of water, thus establishing a connection with the possibility of human habitat being possible on the lunar surface.
