Nepal's Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav said on Wednesday that his country will never allow any force to use its territory for anti-China activities.
Yadav made the remarks during a meeting with Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the seventh China-South Asia Expo in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Describing Nepal and China as "close partners," Yadav said Nepal will always prioritize the development of relations with China in its diplomacy and adhere to the one-China policy.
Efforts should be made to improve the diversity in trade and economic cooperation, he said, expressing hope that China will facilitate the imports of agricultural produce from Nepal.
For his part, Wang said China cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries and will always support Nepal in safeguarding sovereignty, security and development interests and in taking a development path suiting its national realities.
China is ready to work with Nepal to advance the building of a strategic cooperative partnership that features ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity, he said.
Both sides should keep advancing the building of the trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network, jointly build the Belt and Road, and accelerate the feasibility study of a cross-border railway between the two countries to help with the development and revitalization of Nepal, said Wang.
