Harry Kane contributed an early assist and a second-half goal for Bayern Munich's 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen in his Bundesliga debut on Friday.
England captain Kane left Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern with a record transfer fee of 100 million euros ($108.68 million) last week to solve Bayern's scoring problems, as the German topflight only snatched their 11th league title from Borussia Dortmund last minute in this season's last matchday after Robert Lewandowski's departure in 2022.
Kane set up Leroy Sane for a fourth-minute opener, who added their side's third goal in the 90th minute. Mathys Tel made it 4-0 in the stoppage time to wrap up the win.
"It was a tough game but we started well with the early goal. They then made it hard for us in the second half but then I scored the second goal and the lads from the bench did the rest," said Kane after the match.
"I was a bit nervous and excited. Even though it was not my first match for Bayern I was nervous before the game," Kane said. "I had butterflies in my stomach."
Kane made his Bayern debut in a second half substitute appearance last week in a 3-0 home loss to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
