Ukraine's authorities said on Saturday that Russia shelled the center of Chernihiv city in northern Ukraine.
"A Russian missile hit right in the center of the city, in our Chernihiv. A square, the polytechnic university, a theater," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
He added there were casualties without specifying the number.
There was no immediate comment from Russia.
