China Media Group (CMG) and African media organizations signed cooperation agreements in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday.
CMG will launch a new round of cooperation with African media partners as well as jointly launch a series of reports on "Chinese modernization" and "China-Africa Cooperation along the Belt and Road".
According to the memorandum signed by CMG and African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), the two sides will strengthen cooperation in content creation and sharing, technology innovation, research and development, personnel training and exchange and industrial expansion.
CMG also signed cooperation memorandums with mainstream media from countries such as South Africa, Madagascar, Chad and Uganda, based on which regular cooperation will be established in areas such as news and program exchange, personnel visits, technical collaboration, brand promotion and media communication.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, Dlamini Zuma, minister of the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disability in the Republic of South Africa, Chen Xiaodong, Chinese ambassador to South Africa, and Grégoire Ndjaka, AUB's chief executive officer, attended the event and witnessed the signing.
CMG is willing to be a recorder of China-Africa friendship, invite more African media to join the African Video Media Alliance and hold innovative activities, Shen said, adding that CMG will strengthen cooperation with African media in content sharing, technical exchanges and personnel training.

Being an important part of China-Africa cooperation, media exchange is an important platform for telling stories and promoting friendship between China and Africa, said the ambassador Chen.
It is expected that the China-Africa media cooperation will be expanded and circle of friends will be enlarged, he added.

The African Union of Broadcasting has more than 50 members of media organizations. According to its CEO Ndjaka, the cooperation will help tell authentic stories about the two sides and its friendship, strengthen mutual understanding in culture, economy and politics, and promote common development.
The screening of the Chinese film and television program "The Bond (Season 4)" on China-Africa relationship also commenced on Sunday.
Over 10 series of high-quality programs produced by CMG, including "Decoding the Past Ten Years", "Life among Mountains and Rivers", and "Traditional Chinese Medicine", will be aired on mainstream media platforms in more than 10 African countries, including South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
