Hilary has been downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone. According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC), historic amount of rainfall and gusty winds are expected, causing flooding, landslides and life-threatening events.
Hilary was originally from a disturbance south of the southern coast of Mexico associated with a tropical wave on August 12. The disturbance gradually became stronger and more organized and grew into Tropical Storm Hilary on August 16.
