Search and cleanup in fire-hit Maui in Hawaii remains slow

The progress in searching for remains and clearing away debris in Lahaina, the hardest-hit town in the deadly Maui wildfires in Hawaii, remains slow despite of the enormous efforts.

The destruction remains severe inside the fenced-off section of the heavily impacted area, where no cleanup work has begun, even though the government deployed large-scale equipment on August 17.
