The Qixi Festival is often described as the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day, a tradition that celebrates the annual meeting of the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd in Chinese mythology. A celebration of love and romance, the festival falls on Tuesday this year – the seventh day of the seventh lunisolar month of the traditional Chinese calendar.
