Saint Petersburg, the "Cultural Capital of Russia," is one of Russia's most iconic and historically significant cities. Located in the northwest of the country, it holds a prominent place in Russian history, culture and art.

The city is often referred to as the "Venice of the North" due to its extensive canal network and more than 400 bridges. The urban project began in 1703 under Peter the Great. Later known as Leningrad during the time of the former USSR, the city has a strong connection with the October Revolution. Its architectural legacy harmonizes contrasting styles like the Baroque and pristine neoclassical, exemplified in structures such as the Admiralty, Winter Palace, Marble Palace and the world-famous Hermitage Museum.
