China's 24 solar terms - 'Chushu'
00:09

Today marks the End of Heat, or Chushu. "Chu" means "to end" in Chinese, and "shu" means "summer" or "heat." This is a solar term reflecting the change in temperature. There are still a few days ahead before the coolness of autumn arrives. People call unseasonably warm weather during this period "Qiu Laohu", meaning "Autumn Tiger".
