South Africa's BRICS ambassador, Anil Sooklal, said more than 40 countries wish to join the BRICS cooperation mechanism. Twenty-two of them have already formally applied for membership. Thailand is one of them.
Natthavut Thanasorn from Thailand believes that joining BRICS can bring more economic benefits to Thailand. He also expects travel between BRICS countries to become easier after Thailand joins the bloc.
