The leaders of the BRICS countries have decided to invite Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to join the group, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said at a press conference at the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The full membership of the new countries will take effect from January 1, 2024, Ramaphosa said.
