Ren Zhonglun, China Film Association vice chairman and deputy director of the Organizing Committee Office of the First Golden Panda Awards, said it's not easy to judge which work is the best from all those submitted to the Golden Panda Awards. Works of different styles and periods should be appreciated for their highlights.
The organizing committee has solicited works from around the world through open and targeted calls. With a total of 7,024 works from 104 countries and regions submitted, 4,927 are from overseas, accounting for 70 percent.
The Golden Panda Awards will be held on September 19 and 20 in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, and will focus on promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
