Swedish premium electric vehicle (EV) maker Polestar on Friday announced a partnership with Mobileye to incorporate their Chauffeur autonomous driving technology into the Polestar 4 at the 26th edition of Chengdu Motor Show.

At this year's Chengdu Motor Show, the biggest annual auto show in western China, Polestar showcased the Polestar 4, its pure electric high-performance SUV and the Polestar 3, it ultra-luxury pure electric SUV. Polestar 4, the first production car to feature Mobileye’s Chauffeur autonomous driving technology, lays the foundation for this technology by featuring a Mobileye SuperVision-based ADAS from the start.

Mobileye produces leading advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology which is already fitted to over 150 million cars worldwide. And the Mobileye’s Chauffeur technology, expected to roll out in the coming years, is expected to provide hands-free, point-to-point autonomous driving on highways, coupled with eyes-on automated driving for diverse environments.
Founded in 2017 by Volvo Cars and its owner China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Polestar went public on the NASDAQ in 2021. Polestar has research and development facilities in the United Kingdom, Sweden and China. In this June, Polestar entered into a strategic joint venture for the China market with the technology company Xingji Meizu Group.
