While the world is following closely the wave of great reproachments in the Middle East in the wake of the restoration of Saudi-Iran diplomatic ties, what is less talked about is an epochal, tectonic shift in the region: the remarkable transformation in the Saudi state and society under Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. With measures comparable to China's reform and opening up, the country is taking a leap into a high-tech future in the heart of the Muslim world. To take a closer look at these significant changes, we are joined in the first half by Professor Wang Jin from Northwest University of China and Meir Javedanfar, Middle East analyst in Israel. In the second half, we talk to Senator Mushahid Hussain, chairman of the Pakistan Senate Defence Committee and Pakistan-China Institute and also co-chairman of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties.
