Top ministers from the U.S. and Australia have wrapped up consultations in Brisbane, Australia, with a goal to enhance military and security cooperation as the U.S. and Australia continue joint military exercises along with other countries. How have military ties been upgraded this year between the two countries? How will these exercises affect stability in the region? And how should China, the seeming target of Washington, respond to further U.S. build-up of security alliances? Guests in this episode are Zhou Bo, senior fellow at the Center for International Strategy and Security of Tsinghua University; Warwick Powell, adjunct professor at the Queensland University of Technology and the chairman of Smart Trade Networks; and Josef Gregory Mahoney, professor of politics at East China Normal University.
