According to the latest official figures, China’s GDP reached 59.3 trillion yuan, or about 8.3 trillion U.S. dollars, in the first half of 2023, expanding 5.5% year-on-year. How solid is the country’s economic growth so far? How worried is the market over unemployment, deflation, and weakening demand at home and abroad? And what are the solutions to support a stronger economic recovery?
