Song and dance performances, drama and opera shows, and folk music performances were held on the streets of Hangzhou on weekends in east China's Zhejiang Province. Artists and volunteers took part in the street performances to show their passion and hospitality, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere ahead of the 19th Asian Games.

In late August, Hangzhou is launching a series of themed events featuring thousands of performances in the city's public spaces to showcase the 19th Asian Games. What's more, the local city authorities are looking to select some of the most outstanding performers to take part in an evening gala forming a major cultural highlight of the Games.

Athletes from over 40 Asian countries and regions will compete at the Hangzhou Asian Games. China is expected to send a delegation of around 1,000 athletes to the event. The upcoming multi-sport event will feature a diverse range of disciplines and sports in over 400 events. All venues are ready to welcome international athletes.
As the 3rd Chinese city to host the Asian Games after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010, Hangzhou is set to impress the world with its sports venues featuring green urban design, cutting-edge technology, and a diverse range of cultural presentations - all backed by a comprehensive network of support services, operations and facilities - to demonstrate the city's dynamism, innovation and inclusiveness.
