The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is the world’s largest regional organization, covering 60% of Eurasia and 40% of the world’s population. On Tuesday, the heads of state of the SCO gathered for a virtual summit where the SCO officially welcomed Iran as its newest member, extending its reach to the Persian Gulf region.
