Thousands of travelers faced flight delays and uncertainty when the UK's air traffic control system experienced technical problems. The issue resulted in the cancellation of at least 500 flights both departing from and arriving at British airports. Britain's National Air Traffic Service (NATS) stated that a technical problem had led to restrictions in the flow of aircraft to and from the UK. More than 230 departing flights from the UK were canceled, in addition to at least 271 that were scheduled to arrive in the UK.
