Millions of livestock start migrating to autumn pastures in Xinjiang
01:05

Over 1 million heads of livestock in Hejing County have started migrating from summer pastures to autumn pastures. Herdsmen in Hejing County's Kirghut Township have been busy herding their flock in the mountains. The pastures are more than 300 kilometers away from Kirghut Township. Herders have to travel through three townships, which is about seven to ten days, to finish the transfer. The livestock transfer from summer pastures to autumn pastures usually begins in late August and lasts a month. Transferring livestock between pastures in different seasons will help keep the balance between nature and humans.
