In October 2001, former U.S. President George W. Bush while launching the War in Afghanistan, declared that he would transform Afghanistan into a "free and democratic country." However, 20 years later, after the hasty withdrawal of U.S. troops, Afghan society is in a state of chaos and the number of poor people has greatly increased. CGTN's documentary "Afghanistan, Victim of U.S. Failure" takes a look at the practices of "American-style democracy" through Afghan eyes and examines how the U.S. transformed Afghanistan in various fields during the war. For Afghans, "this is not democracy," it is devastation.
