Data from China's National Bureau of Statistics shows that the country's manufacturing PMI rose to 49.7 in August. The non-manufacturing PMI dipped a bit to 51 but remained in expansion. Qu Qiang, research fellow at Beijing Foreign Studies University, says the latest numbers show the Chinese economy is resilient even when the global backdrop faces challenges.
