U.S. Military caused Afghan National Army's troubles
01:42

During the war in Afghanistan, the U.S. military ignored local cultural traditions and religious beliefs. From 2007 to 2012, there were 71 serious incidents between these two supposedly allied forces. Mohammad Abdullah (pseudonym), a former military officer of the Afghan National Army, was involved in a confrontation with U.S. troops during a military operation. Years later, he traveled back to the village that changed his fate. Local villagers still clearly recall the searches of women by American troops and the clash that occurred when Afghan army forces resisted them. The recollections he exchanged with the villagers reminded him why he has never felt remorse for opposing the U.S. military's ignorance of Afghan culture and the Afghan people's dignity.
