Several sections of China's first sea-crossing high-speed railway, connecting the cities of Fuzhou, Xiamen and Zhangzhou in east China's Fujian Province, entered trial operation on Thursday, according to the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
The Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is the country's first cross-sea high-speed rail with a maximum designed speed of 350km/h.

Extending 277.42 kilometers along several port cities and crossing three sea gulfs in the coastal province, the line is scheduled to begin operations this year. The construction of the line began in September 2017.
It will slash the travel time between Fuzhou and Xiamen by half.
