Georgia's ruling party, Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia, has decided to initiate the impeachment process against the country's president, Salome Zourabichvili.

The party leader Irakli Kobakhidze made the announcement during a briefing following the political council meeting on Friday.

Kobakhidze asserted that President Salome Zurabishvili's recent decision to meet with European leaders, despite the government's objections, is a clear breach of the constitution.
