Students in wildfire-hit Maui town sent elsewhere as community prepares makeshift schools

A local Hawaiian community is adopting temporary schooling measures, including the use of shipping containers as schooling facilities for students displaced by the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over a century. The wind-whipped fires, which started on August 8 and raged through the oceanside town of Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui, have left at least 115 people dead and wiped out vital services.
