Nestled within Mingsha Mountain is Crescent Spring, a crystal-clear spring resembling a crescent moon, hence its name. Visitors can freely explore the area, marvel at the desert landscapes, and immerse themselves in the allure of the desert. This is a place where one can appreciate cultural heritage and experience the ambiance of the ancient Silk Road.
From the late 20th century to the early 21st century, Crescent Spring experienced rapid shrinkage, with parts of its water levels dropping significantly. However, since 2008, the water level of Crescent Spring has been steadily rising, and the surface has thus been stabilizing.
