Winners of the Golden Deer Awards at the 18th China Changchun Film Festival will be announced on Saturday night. Both "The Wandering Earth 2" and "Home Coming" have received seven nominations each, including "Best Picture" and "Best Director," making them the frontrunners.

"The Wandering Earth 2," as one of the most-beloved Chinese science fiction works in recent years, has set a benchmark for the industrialization of filmmaking in China. It also achieved remarkable success by becoming the runner-up at this year's Spring Festival box office, second only to "Full River Red." At this year's Changchun Film Festival, it is the most anticipated entry, receiving seven nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Jury Prize, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music, and Best Editing.

"Home Coming," the 2022 National Day box office champion, has also received seven nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Jury Prize, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Music.

As the box office champion of this year's Spring Festival season, Chinese veteran director Zhang Yimou's "Full River Red" has been nominated for Best Director and Best Actor/Actress.

The highly successful summer season of 2023 has seen several new releases receiving recognition from the Golden Deer Awards. Among them, "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms" has been nominated for Best Picture and five other categories, while "Never Say Never," directed by and starring Wang Baoqiang, has received five nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor.

"Lost in the Stars" and "No More Bets," which generated significant buzz this summer, have also received multiple nominations.
