According to the Chinese foreign minister, in the past five years, the bilateral trade volume between China and Italy has increased from $50 billion to nearly $80 billion, with Italy's exports to China growing by about 30 percent.
These achievements have been made possible with the two countries' adherence to the comprehensive strategic partnership, Wang said, adding the two sides should further respect and trust each other, promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation as well as learn from one another to inject more stability into the turbulent world.
In the face of new situations and opportunities, China is willing to work with Italy to adhere to openness and win-win cooperation, focus on practical cooperation, promote inclusiveness and mutual learning, and push for the greater development of the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership, Wang stressed.
Speaking at the meeting, Tajani noted that Italy looks forward to working with China to deepen cooperation in various fields, including trade and investment, science and technology innovation, environmental protection, people-to-people exchange and tourism.
Vowing to promote Italy-China relations to a new level, he added Italy is willing to strengthen communication and collaboration with China in multilateral organizations such as the United Nations and the Group of Twenty.
