A batch of intelligent robots has wowed attendees at the three-day Smart China Expo, which is being held in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

A robot to inspect high-voltage power lines that can roll along the transmission wires has attracted attention. It integrates rapid positioning, laser scanning and other technologies.

It can perform inspections at a high speed, while avoiding the danger of working at altitude, according to its developer.

A drain inspection robot, equipped with non-destructive inspection technologies, can work in drainage pipes, culverts and open channels.

With a high-definition camera, the robot can identify various defects, and it is safer, because it replaces manual operation underground, said the exhibitor.
