Curling into the center of a lake, a walkway in Hami, Xijiang will lead you into a pink paradise. During certain weather conditions, the waters of Tuolekule Lake turn as pink as roses thanks to the presence of algae and minerals such as the iron-potassium mineral glauconite and salt. This feast of color at the lake is entering its peak viewing period, drawing visitors in early autumn to take in the views of the pink palette set amid rolling mountainsides.
