The 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has further highlighted its role as a vital platform for enterprises across the world, to strengthen cooperation and seek further development opportunities.

The grand event, which concluded on Wednesday in Beijing, saw more than 1100 outcomes achieved as of noon on Wednesday, according to the fair's organizing committee.

The internationalization rate of this year's offline exhibitors exceeded 20 percent, including more than 500 of the world’s industry-leading enterprises, covering 28 of the top 30 countries and regions in service trade.

CIFTIS provides the world with a window into China's high-level opening-up and acts as an important platform for exchanges and cooperation between businesses from around the globe, China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said at a press conference.

Participants also showed their willingness to boost cooperation with China in the field of service trade.

As the guest country of honor of the 2023 CIFTIS, the UK has assembled its largest-ever delegation for the fair this year. At the fair, UK companies participated in events related to education, sports, infrastructure, and construction, showcasing the services that UK companies can bring to the Chinese market.

China is now the world's fourth-largest exporter and second-largest importer of services, becoming a global center for the supply and demand of services, official data showed.

"China stands ready to work with all parties to promote inclusive development with openness in the services sector, jointly safeguarding free trade and the multilateral trade system, providing greater and higher-quality Chinese services to the world, " Mao added.
