The 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo concludes with fruitful results on Thursday in Dunhuang, northwest China's Gansu Province.
More than 30 key activities have been held during the two-day event, including forums, exhibitions, performances and investment promotion meetings, according to a press conference held by the information office of the Gansu provincial government on Thursday afternoon.
Held in a major hub on the ancient Silk Road, the expo has attracted more than 1,200 guests from 56 countries, regions and international organizations.
Over 100,000 items have been displayed in 15 exhibitions, showcasing the achievements of cultural exchanges among more than 20 countries and regions along the Silk Road, said He Xiaozu, head of Gansu's provincial department of culture and tourism.
Meanwhile, 26 major projects have been signed at the event with a total worth of 10.6 billion yuan ($1.45 billion), covering areas of culture, tourism, healthcare and technology.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. During the event, domestic and overseas guests called for efforts to promote the Silk Road spirit, practice the Global Civilization Initiative, and carry out extensive international people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation.
