Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a message of condolence to Moroccan King Mohammed VI over a powerful earthquake in the country that has caused heavy casualties and property losses.
Xi expressed his deep condolences to the victims and offered sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the injured on behalf of the Chinese government and people.
He voiced his belief that, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the government and its people will surely overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes at an early date.
The Red Cross Society of China on Saturday announced that it would provide the Moroccan Red Crescent with $200,000 in emergency humanitarian assistance to support its rescue and disaster relief work following the devastating earthquake in the North African country.
