China launched a remote sensing satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Sunday. The satellite, Yaogan-40, was launched by a modified version of the Long March-6 carrier rocket at 12:30 p.m. Beijing Time and has entered its preset orbit. It will be used for electromagnetic environment detection and related technical tests. This launch was the 487th flight mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.
