At the Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue in Jingdezhen in eastern China's Jiangxi Province, young potters gather at a vibrant weekend night market to showcase the creative and groundbreaking possibilities of ceramic arts. Their novel and sometimes eclectic pieces are considered a blend of tradition and modernity. Close to a million tourists have visited Taoxichuan in the summer of 2023. Two of the young artists we spoke with told us how they hope to carry on this 1,000-year-old ceramic craft.
